My College Got Scammed By Fake Nicki Minaj Promoter!
So the MSU student body was told by the Student Government Association, as well as the Programming Board that Nicki Minaj would be performing at our Fall Fest 2010 on October 08th. Students were so excited and determined to get their tickets, that many of them camped out overnight outside where the tickets were sold today at 8:30am. Since we were told that we would be allowed to bring guests,there were also people who don't go to MSU camping out too. While on my way to class this morning, I saw the extremely long line and decided that AIN'T NO WAY i'm waiting in it and missing class to pay 20 bucks to see Nicki Minaj, though I think her verses are sick.
So I'm sitting in class tweeting about the line, when I saw the following tweets from Nicki Minaj:
Apparently, the school booked Nicki through a fake agency who stole approximately $35,000 of our money! We got S C A M M E D. Yet, even with knowledge of this news, people still stood in that line with hopes that Nicki's agency had not yet informed her about the concert and she is still scheduled to perform. Others on the other hand, demanded a refund. I feel bad for the people who waited hours in that line hoping to get a golden ticket *shakes head* The SGA has given Nicki's camp the name of the fake promoter and agency and she psoted it on her twitter, suggesting legal action.
WOW-my college became a hot topic on twitter and the internet in general in a matter of minutes. MTV even posted an article about this scam, as well as other music websites like billboard.com who's got us confused with Michigan State University >.< I hope they catch that asshole scam artist and throw him in jail! Stealing from struggling college students? Really? SHAME! And apparently, we are not the only University that got scammed.

My 20th Birthday
Hello All,
I wanted to share memories of my fantastic 20th birthday night (July 8th) with my blog readers. For weeks, my best friend and I had been wondering what to do to make this night an enjoyable and memorable one. We wanted to visit some lounges + clubs in NYC but most only catered to the 21+ crowd. I've always felt that being 20 is the most awkward age because you're not old enough to enjoy the bars, but too old to do anything juvenile. Anyway, to make a long story short, we decided to go to this club in the city that was letting in 19+ for "Ladies Night".

Alicia Keys Concert
So remember when I told you that he got me Alicia Keys concert tickets for Valentine's Day. Well umm, what I didn't tell you is that we are no longer together. Anyway, I decided to still go with him because I adore A. Keys. Melanie Fiona and Robin Thicke opened up for her and they delivered good performances. But when A Keys was coming on, man, I was super excited! I sang the words to all the songs she sang. She looked BEAUTIFUL, and I was very impressed by the stage setting. There was a 3D bleeding heart (pictured right) hanging over the audience while she sang "Fallin'" to give it that extra something. There were a lot of colors, circling piano, videos, etc. I really had a lot of fun, and I can now put this down as one of my favorite experiences.

Valentine's Day?
Hey Lovies,
I'm sitting on my bed, nibbling on a turkey sandwich, the sound from the TV actually quite soothing in the background. It's competing with my mother's singing voice traveling from the kitchen however, which is not as soothing, lol. I'm not sure how many inches of snow is currently on the ground outside, and I must say that times like these when I'm snowed in due to inclement weather conditions is the most relaxing. All I need right now is a long, invigorating shower; my favorite place to unwind. There's something about the noise the water makes as it hits the bathtub, the fragrance of my favorite body wash filling my nostrils, and the cleaning of my naked body that puts me in a place of contemplation, inaccessible to troubles, worries, and conflict. I figured now is the perfect time for a new blog post as I have nothing of priority to attend to right now.
Valentine's Day ♥. Ahhh yes, the impetus to my most lonely moments. Subjected to the sight of couples in love walking in front of me, their hands clutched tightly together. Girls at school showing off all sorts of red gifts, with the symbolic "heart" revealing that they are token of affection from their sweethearts. Listening to my friends gush about all the romantic events they have planned for the day & night, while all I plan to do is turn on the TV and sulk. Oh yes, I remember all too well. Mind you, I would be asked to be someone's Valentine, but it just wasn't the same. There wasn't that "connection". I didn't feel the need to express any sort of romantic feelings, or lack there of. There wasn't that special someone. As I grew older though, I decided not to let it bother me. It's only one stupid day right? So I'd try my best to make it through the day [...]

Look What I Found!
So I was shopping on karmaloop & I decided to browse this site that has a whole bunch of coupons for the main site. Somehow, I stumbled upon the expired coupons page, and scrolled all the way to the buttom (I still have no idea why I did that) & look what I found among all the other coupons:
My name is the code for one of the site's coupons. Haha, coincidence, or perhaps they thought my name was cool upon seeing it when I first ordered from the site? :-p I've never seen my name anywhere in a situation that that did not involve myself, personally. I know that my name is uncommon, but I'm leaning towards the first option. Either way, I think that they should give me a $5O gift certificate just because of this lol.
Anyway, look at what I ordered! Got the green & black addidas on sale! I was hesitant in buying but I think it's gonna look cuter in person.

Masquerade Ball & Farewell Dinner
Hey Lovies!
So last night, my org, The International Student Organization (ISO), (which I am secretary of) hosted a Masquerade Ball last night which also served as our farewell dinner for the semester. We really worked hard in planning this event, and it definitely paid off because the night was a success! Excellent food, impressive performances, Bangin after party, and more! Peep some of the pics below

The mask I wore was beautiful but I only wore it for a few mins (to take pics)..it was too much in the way! haha.

Rutger's Vs. Howard
I just came home from a football game against Rutger's University and Howard University. It took place at Rutger's stadium. My friend goes there so I went to see both he and the game. It was my first college football game and so exciting! Now mind you, Ive enrolled in 2 colleges so far but one doesn't have a football team and the school I'm currently enrolled in doesnt have a division I team. Anyway, Rutger's PUNISHED Howard...they scored 45 and HU scored 7. I felt bad for them but their band was sick! No wonder their homecomings are known for being so great. Their dancers were pretty fly, made me kinda wonder what it would be like to do something like that. I'm planning on going to one of my school's games..

The Incy Bitsy Spider...
came down my room's ceiling. So this morning, I wake up and call my mom into my room to check something out. We talk, and she heads over to my dresser to place something down. Then she goes "Niku! what is this?" while laughing, an amused expression on her face. I saw her eyes focused on my AC unit. The first thing I thought of was some kinda creepy animal, but she didn't seem scared, which made me relax.
Then I took a closer look at what she was staring at, and it was the prettiest, most fascinating spider web we had ever seen. You're probably wondering- "ewww, what's so pretty about a spider web?" Well, this one was like one I had never seen before.
It started from the ceiling, with one line (I dont know what you call it) attatched from the ceiling to my bed, and another to my beaded curtain. And in the center, was an interesting looking spider, who was still spinning her web. It was so pretty, that my mom and I decided not to kill it. She captured it in a container and threw it out the window. I know spiders can't fly, and they don't land on their feet like cats, but ehh, something tells me she will live. Not the kinda visitor you wanna see first thing in the morning,but she made the start of my day pretty interesting.

She Works Hard For The Moneyyyy
Hey Lovies,
So the school year just started and guess what- I have a job now! I work on campus basically doing secretary work. It's a chill laid back atmosphere. This is my first job ever, besides babysitting so I feel all grown :) Now when I finish college and that real $$$ start rollin' in, I'll feel superb! lol. Ahhh man, I can already tell this is going to be a busy semester--Between work, classes, and my position as secretary for one of the class I organizations on campus. So I don't know how often I will be updating this blog but I will def. continue doing so! Classes officially start tom-well, today (Sept 2) But I don't have classes on Wednesdays SO FAR. Can you believe that my current major is psychology and I can't enroll in the psych course that I need to because all the classes are full?! I'm planning on talking to my advisor about that.
In other news, who has heard Letoya Luckett's new album, Lady Love? I'm listening to it right now and I'm loving it! Letoya has been my girl ever since "Torn" I love the vibe I get off this album..the whole woman epowerment, know your worth, thing. You go, Letoya!
