I don't remember if I've mentioned this on my blog previously, but I've never been in a committed relationship. I know that I've mentioned that I've been hurt yes, but I've never said "this is my boyfriend". I will explain why in a bit. First of all, let me tell you that I know I've been hurt, because it felt like someone ripped my heart from my chest, and stomped on it with his heavy timberland boots till the love, care, and hope drained from the holes....And when I've managed to finally stitch it back together, another comes along, rips my patch-work heart from behind that massive wall in my chest, stomps on it with his heavy timberland boots, and drains what little was left. Early this morning, I posted this as my facebook status:
Same shit, different guy. Same guy, different lie.
I got a lot of feedback from this: girls liking and/or agreeing, and guys opposing, one even liking it! Someone then went on to ask me how is it that I've been hurt when I've never been in a relationship.
How is that possible? I'll tell you how...
As long as mutual feelings are involved, and you both express your interest in wanting to take things to another level. The person swears to you that you can trust them not to deceive you, to play you..and even though initially, you were reluctant, you open up your heart, and let them in, with the mindset that things are going to work out as long as you take it slow. You believe them when they said you can trust them. Then, they go ahead and do some grimy shit, and simultaneously, "play you". With that said, how is it NOT possible to get your feelings hurt? Especially when it's a different guy, each time. And I said to that person who questioned me, "And that's why I've never been in a relationship. Because they hurt me before we can even get to that step".

Choose wisely. I recommend you really get to know him before you consider taking the next step. After that, it's just a question of having faith but if you take your time the right man will come along and sweep you off your feet.
I definitely feel you and agree. I've been hurt soo many times but I've only been in like 2 serious relationships. One was a summer love and I was 16. The other was...2 months so it wasn't even longterm
I'm tweeting this! "And that's why I've never been in a relationship. Because they hurt me before we can even get to that step"
Its a risk; love, getting to know someone and even slowly opening up to them, its all a risk.
And sometimes i want to find a dog in every man...then i realize that i cannot judge all men or make one man pay for another man's hurt.
I wouldn't lie to you - I think you should be very careful and aware of who you decide to fall in love with. Cause whether anyone will agree with me or not, love is a very powerful thing and it can get sick sometimes. Meaning, you could easily fall in love with someone who changes on you and ends up treating you other than expected. And it will scar you.
I think you are very smart to put emphasis upon the smallest of hints that something in the water does not compute when it comes to a love interest.
Be smart. Stay smart. As a man, I tell you this for your own good. LOL. Seriously.
@ Stephane & Tricia: YES! I always say that love is all about taking a risk and having faith. aw man, that's a risk i'm really scared to take AGAIN though. But I will when the right guy proves himself worthy.
@Chymere: glad to have you back hun.
@Don: aw man, sounds scary! changing me? I just hope that when i finally do find love, it doesn't blind me, ya know? & thanks for advice! haha, you know I gotta be smart..guys will try to fool and take advantage of a gool ol' fashioned girl like myself ;)
